Since the beginning of its establishment, the Council has given considerable importance to issues revolving around gender-based violence, domestic violence, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, neglect, and abuse. Furthermore, the national governmental and non-governmental institutions and international organizations had many great national achievements in this field.
WHO approved the Council as a regional cooperation center in areas of prevention and protection from domestic violence/2005.
To enhance Jordan's efforts to protect both families and children from violence, it was announced that the Council would join in 2021 as a representative of Jordan in the Global Initiative to eliminate all forms of violence against children, making Jordan the 33rd member, and one of the leading countries in the partnership forged for ending violence.
