Ministry of Social Development and NCFA Sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Development of Childcare Sector

Amman, March 28th (Petra)- Hatem Zaza- The Ministry of Social Development, NCFA and the Jordanian National Commission For Women (JNCW) have signed today an MoU on developing mechanisms for sustainable cooperation and partnership to improve the childcare sector.
The MoU was signed at the workshop for presenting the preliminary findings of the study on supporting the care sector sponsored by the Women's Empowerment Program in the Middle East.
The purpose of the MoU is to develop mechanisms of cooperation and sustainable partnership; to achieve an enhanced and sensitive environment for early childhood care supported by coherent policies based on knowledge and joint action among the relevant institutions to empower women economically. It also aims to realize family well-being and stability and support government efforts with respect to coordination between the relevant authorities to take the necessary decisions and actions to support policies related to the development of the childcare system in Jordan within the framework of Jordanian legislation.
Additionally, the MoU seeks to intensify efforts of the three parties to conduct data-backed dialogues in order to improve opportunities for women’s economic participation and empowerment through the advancement of the care sector, including the provision of nurseries and qualified female educational staff, and building institutional capacities at the strategic and technical level in the childcare sector in Jordan.
