05-15-2023

The National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) signed a memorandum of understanding with Generations for Peace on Monday to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two parties.

NCFA's Secretary-General Mohammad Miqdadi and chairman of the council Mohannad Arabiyat signed the agreement.

Miqdadi said that the agreement aims to continue the efforts to establish the foundations of issues that serve the interests of the family. It aims to enhance cooperation and partnership between the authority and the council in implementing plans, programs, projects, and activities of mutual interest, he added.

He stressed that the council has adopted a participatory approach involving governmental and non-governmental institutions, the private sector and international organisations in its projects, which positively impacts the lives of families and their members.

He pointed out that the collaboration within the agreement will impact various areas being worked on, whether related to protection from violence (legislative, counseling, and psychological, or early childhood aspects), as well as a focus on the development and empowerment of youth.

This will open the door for exchanging information and discussing ideas to implement programs, activities, and projects of mutual interest, ensuring the enhancement of capabilities in the cited areas, he added.

On his part, Arabiyat stated that the message of building peace at the grassroots level entirely depends on the health and stability of families, both psychologically, socially, and economically. He affirmed that this goal is sought after by peace generations through strategic partnerships with entities working in the protection and violence prevention sector.

This agreement, falling within the continuous efforts to build capacities and enhance the roles of workers in the fields of protection and prevention, will provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange and benefit from the lessons learned, which will have a tangible positive impact on the individual and the family, according to Arabiyat.
