An action plan for child protection in Jordan coming soon

A workshop organized by NCFA and UNICEF was concluded recently which followed up on the concluding remarks of Jordan's combined fourth and fifth periodic reports on the CRC and the observations on the two CRC's optional protocols. The two-day workshop, organized in line with NCFA's efforts pertaining to the realization of child-related international conventions and treaties, was attended by members of the National Team for Family Protection against Violence, members of the legislative committee in the NCFA Board of Trustees, and representatives from governmental institutions and civil society and international organizations.
The workshop discussed the pillars of the two reports particularly with regard to the measures of implementation, education, leisure and cultural activities, violence against children, family environment, foster care and child labor, in addition to the two optional protocols, progress achieved in addressing the observations of the combined 4th and 5th periodic reports and the plan of action for the next phase before the commencement of the next periodic report which is due in July 2019.
All participating entities agreed to develop an action plan that involves all relevant institutions and includes the roles and responsibilities of institutions and the programs and activities planned for the forthcoming period which are to be followed-up by the National Team which comprises representatives from all the relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions working under the umbrella of NCFA.
