- Cooperation agreement between NCFA and Vocational Training Corporation

On Thursday, June 9th, NCFA and Vocational Training Corporation signed a cooperation agreement for vocational training and employment with the project “Early Childhood Development/ Ahlan Simsim Program” carried out in cooperation with IRC.

Signed by Dr. Mohammad Miqdadi, the Secretary-General of NCFA, and Omar Qtishat, the acting director-general of VTC, in presence of Norhan Shaqman, Director of Program Coordinators of IRC, and the cooperation agreement aims to establish training rooms and nursery laboratories in five governorates in the Kingdom and equip them with tools that will provide a safe training environment for girls wishing to practice babysitter profession. It also aims to qualify babysitters with professional certificates and the qualifications and skills to ensure the provision of an appropriate level of services for children.

According to NCFA, the agreement was made in the implementation of the partnership between NCFA and IRC to activate cooperation means in a number of families and early childhood-related areas, intending to prepare a quality system for nurseries, and preparing and developing comprehensive training, qualification and learning curricula to qualify early childhood and nursery service providers.

Miqdadi noted the importance of this agreement in paying special attention to the early childhood stage, as it is the cornerstone for advanced stages. It is also in line with the vision of economic modernization within early childhood development, which stresses the need to develop curricula and appropriate educational programs and expand the preparation of effective early childhood programs in Jordan.

He explained that NCFA prepared, within the framework of its work, studies and reports that monitor the reality of childhood, in order to improve the services provided to the child, in addition to media campaigns aimed at shedding light on issues of violence and abuse that children may be exposed to, stressing the importance of coordination and networking in order to promote the concept of a participatory approach between the concerned institutions, to garner support for childhood issues in a manner that ensures the provision of a healthy and safe environment for the child, and to serve their best interests.

On his part, Qtishat said that this agreement complements the cooperation between VTC and NCFA, where VTC will prepare, design and implement the agreed programs in the workshops of VTC across the Kingdom, and will provide qualified trainers to train the target groups.

He asserted that VTC will, during the training programs, promote women's participation in and integration into work environments according to the needs of the Jordanian labour market.  (Petra)
