Mauritanian delegation explores NCFA's work mechanism

A delegation from Islamic Republic of Mauritania representing the Ministry of Social Affairs, Children and the Family and the Ministry of Health in Mauritania and United Nations Fund visited UNCFA offices to get a closer look at the Council's work mechanism.
Deputy Secretary-General Mohammad Miqdady showcased Jordan's expertise in the enhancement of the system of family and child protection, emphasizing its unique and pioneering aspect of having a unifying umbrella for all relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions under the supervision of the National Team for Family Protection against Violence.
Research and Studies Specialist Ghada Al-Qadi briefed the guests on the NCFA's mechanisms and goals centered on the formulation of and follow-up on policies, strategies and development plans of interest to the family and its members, the advancement of their quality of life, the enhancement of their roles and abilities to meet the needs of their members, betterment of their wellbeing, stability, cohesion and identity, furtherance of the efforts of civil society institutions and organizations concerned with family issues in the public and private sectors, and facilitation of coordination and complementarity among them.
Al-Qadi also outlined NCFA's areas of work including the formulation and analysis of legislation, development of early childhood, protection of the family against violence, family counseling, elderly care, and the preparation of periodic reports on the status and characteristics of the Jordanian family.
The visiting delegation commended the role played by NCFA as an umbrella for governmental and non-governmental institutions in addition to Jordan's impressive progress in enhancing the system of family protection against violence.
