NCFA to prepare an analysis report on the situation of children in Jordan in cooperation with UNICEF

NCFA and United Nations Children's Fund (UNCEF) conducted a workshop to prepare for the "Children in Jordan: Situation Analysis 2016" report. The report, to be issued triennially, will serve as a database that can contrite to the formulation of policies on childhood and evaluation of the situation of children in Jordan in all sectors.
During the workshop, NCFA Secretary-General Fadel Al-Hmoud stated that NCFA places great importance on the early childhood phase under the guidance of HM Queen Rania Al-Abdullah (Chair of NCFA's Board of Trustees).
He also reiterated everybody's' commitment to children's protection and right to enjoy a safe and stable life, noting that NCFA in cooperation with UNICEF conducted the first child situation analysis in 2016/2007, updated it in 2011 and are currently preparing a 2016 report. The value of the report is greatly recognized in light of the new developments and changes that have taken place ate the level of the family and community, Al-Hmoud added.
On her part, UNICEF’s Chief of Child Protection Program, Maha Homsi indicated that the CRC defines violence as "any form of violence or injury or physical or mental violence, neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation, including sexual abuse while in the care of parent(s), legal guardian(s) or any other person who has the care of the child", noting that Jordan has already signed the CRC.
According to national surveys, fears related to the protection of child against violence can be resulted from numerous matters such as separation from parents, early and forced marriages and child labor, added Homsi, indicating that the most prevalent form of violence perpetrated against children is the physical punishment the occurs in schools and institutions
