In cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, a third nursery was opened in Ad-Dulayl Compound Association to provide services for 800 women workers in the Ad-Dulayl industrial compound. The new nursery was launched under NCFA's project "Support and activation of institutional nurseries in the private sector" funded by the Employment, Technical and Vocational Education Training (E-TVET) Fund with a view to encourage women to participate in the labor market.
The opening was attended by NCFA Secretary General Fadel Al-Hmoud, Dr. Ghassan Abu Yagi Director of the (E-TVET) Fund and a representative from the Ministry of Labor.
After receiving training on necessary skills related to early childhood and work in nurseries, 10 children caretakers were appointed in the new nursery.
Visitors toured the facility established according to international and local nursery standards and viewed the furnishing designed to suit different age groups.
It is to be noted that the objectives of the project are to establish 80 model nurseries in the private sector in different governorates and to train (888) female job seekers on early childhood care skills, (755) of which will be chosen from the Civil Service Bureau records to work in the private sector nurseries to be established, and the remaining (133) job seekers will be selected from new graduates to enable them to have high quality jobs in the private sector. The project thus creates 755 job opportunities within these established nurseries.
