The National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) celebrated its 20th anniversary on Monday, under the slogan 'Twenty Years Have Passed, Partners in a Journey Full of Challenges, Successes, and Collaboration.

Dr. Mohammad Miqdadi, secretary-general of the NCFA, emphasized the continuation of the council's journey in line with its vision and the crystallization of its goals to serve the interests of Jordanian families. He highlighted the council's commitment to creating an enabling environment that enables families to reach stability and well-being in view of religious principles, the constitution, positive values, and the needs of families. He also noted that improving the quality of services, monitoring them, issuing regular reports, conducting research and studies, all within the framework of coordination and partnership, form the council's approach and the scope of its work.

Noting that the council's journey since its establishment has been focused on improving the conditions of families and providing protection and care for different segments of society, Miqdadi added. Additionally, it represents the Kingdom internationally to showcase its civilized image and contributions to strengthening families and their categories, as well as addressing the challenges they face.

Miqdadi underscored that belief in the role of the family is at the core of the council's mission to strengthen society. The council has been devoted to social development and promoting a participatory approach for two decades to continue its journey towards achieving the stability and well-being of families, as well as improving the quality of services and monitoring them.

In turn, Major Saeed Al-Qatawneh, Director of the Juvenile and Family Protection Department, stated that the philosophy upon which the Family Council is based is to create a state of collaboration among all entities involved in family affairs, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and civil society organizations. The aim is to fulfill the role of family protection and unify efforts towards this after a period of lack of coordination, randomized approaches, and scattered efforts.

Miqdadi also emphasized the council's commitment to achieving the vision of public security, considering public security as the primary sponsor of law enforcement, safeguarding lives, honor, and property, and countering all the threats that determine the security and stability of society, out of his believe that the council has provided a conducive environment for creating partnerships and working as a team.

The attending partners underscored the importance of the council's role within Jordanian society. It was established based on an interactive national vision involving various institutions and community entities. It has developed a strategy for family development and furnishing its role in society, as well as addressing the challenges that threaten family and community stability. The council serves as a systematic framework for family and child affairs.
