NCFA meets with Public Security Director

Members of NCFA Board of Trustees met with Public Security Director (PSD) Major General Atef Al-Saudi and discussed ways of activating partnership and coordination between the two sides.
During the visit to the PSD, Maj. Gen. Saudi emphasized that the Directorate represented in the Family Protection Department (FPD) and its divisions distributed across the Kingdom spares no effort in the provision of family social services that contribute to the cohesion of the family being the basic building block of society.
Al-Saudi hailed partnerships among the Directorate represented by FPD, NCFA and civil society organizations in the area of family awareness, under which FPD conducted several scientific studies in the area of family protection against the troubling phenomenon of family violence.
NCFA Secretary General Fadel Al-Hmoud underlined the importance of such visits as they offer an opportunity to be informed of different aspects of the institutional work of other entities involved with family issues and allow for the exchange of expertise among those involved. Al-Hmoud commended the FPD and its staff for providing a social and legal umbrella for the families, safeguarding them and preserving their unity in cooperation with other relevant bodies, noting that the consolidation of efforts between public and private institutions for the sake of preserving the family reaffirms the national concern for the protection of the key component of society, the family, which will help promote progress and development at all levels.
The meeting included a briefing presented by Colonel Omar Abu Hamour, Head of the Department of Planning at PSD, outlining the social and human key responsibilities undertaken by public security officers in addition to the department's future plans particularly those related to human aspects affecting the family which seek to bring forth peace and security in the society.
NCFA Board members complimented PSD's role and its continued cooperation with NCFA through the series of meetings that help forge closer ties among the two sides which will consequently feed into the creation of a safe family environment.
Members of the Board also visited FPD and were briefed by Brig. Gen. Tayseer Hjazeen on the nature of the work in the department and the human services presented to the citizens as well as future plans for raising public awareness. Brig. Gen. Hjazeen also spoke of the department's willingness to hold meetings with cultural and youth centers throughout the Kingdom to raise awareness and instruct families, starting with primary education students at schools and including institute and university students on issues related to family rights and responsibilities so as to keep families safe from any violations and harms that might endanger their safety and security
