(ToT) Course on Family Counseling

In cooperation with the National Council for family Affairs (NCFA), a training of trainers awareness course on family counseling was concluded on Monday held by the All Jordan Youth Commission (AJYC), a youth organization working under the umbrella of King Abdulla II Fund for Development.
The two-day course attended by women empowerment coordination and liaison officers representing different governorates in Jordan included a briefing on family counseling and its importance in protecting the family, the youth and society in general against problems facing them in addition to information and counseling skills presented by family counseling specialists Dr Suad Gaith and Dr Suhailah Banat.
The Acting Secretary-General of the (NCFA), Mohammad Miqdady, stressed the significance of the cooperation with the commission in shedding light on family counseling issues as they target the youth, the largest sector in the Jordanian society. He pointed out that issues such as dealing with families of drug addicts, teen problems, marital issues and enhancing skills of senior citizen counseling can have their impact on the youth sector.
The Director of (AJYC) Sami al- Maitah indicated the importance of cooperation among all entities concerned with family counseling, emphasizing the willingness of the commission to embrace all ideas and youth initiatives that can assess and develop local communities in all governorates.
On her part, women empowerment coordination and liaison officer at the commission, Zaman Khazaleh, said that the commission has created a women empowerment unit to help promote her role in various areas of life, enable coordination and networking with civil society institutions and organizations concerned with women and the family and empower and raise the awareness of young women
